Women have the right to know that five medical organizations say abortion is one of the causes of breast cancer... A sixth medical group is calling for full disclosure of a highly plausible relationship. A cause and effect relationship is supported by... 1. A biological explanation which scientists have been unable to disprove and do not challenge. 2. A study on rats 3. Epidemiological research 16 out of 17 statistically significant studies in the worldwide medical literature report risk elevations. Statistical significance is a technical term which means that scientists are at least 95% certain that the results obtained were not due to error or chance. 7. Studies report more than a twofold increase in risk! 13 out of 16 American Studies report increased risk. Most studies were funded at least partially by the U.S. National Cancer Institute. Scientists have been studying the abortion-breast cancer link since 1957, but have paternalistically censored the research and concealed it from women. The government's ongoing cover-up of the research has stripped abortion-bound girls and women of their right to informed consent. It has denied women with abortion histories an opportunity to undertake risk reduction measures, seek early detection, and join clinical trials. The Journal of the National Cancer Institute published the "Annual Report to the Nation on the Status of Cancer (1973-1998)" A graph clearly showed that breast cancer rates increased more than 40% starting in the mid 1980s. The increase is entirely limited to the Roe v. Wade generation - those women young enough to have had legal abortions starting in 1973. The increase did not occur among women in the two older generations. The U.S. National Cancer Institute, the American Cancer Society, and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention collaborated on the report. Although two of the authors conducted earlier research clearly showing that abortion increases breast cancer risk, no mention was made of abortion and no interest whatsoever was shown in prevention.
